Mother Murder 

For my preliminary task I had to create a movie opening using the 180 degree rule, match on action and shot reverse shots. My piece features a boy who poisons his mother. The establishing shot was of the boy walking down a flight of stairs, the average setting connotes an average sort of day with nothing special happening. We the see a closeup shot of his face as a he asks his mother a question, there is no specific cunning look to his face, which leaves the audience to believe that there is nothing going on. We then see him open the fridge which cuts to a shot with the camera inside the fridge, this provides an interesting shot to engage the audience. The boy then walks into the kitchen and pours his mother a drink. As she takes the drink we then cut to a closeup of the boys face, which has a mischievous expression, connoting that he has done something wrong, then we cut back to the women where she expresses that there is something wrong with her drink. The piece then ends when we fade to the final shot of the women dropping her cup.
